Aspen Institute Names GVG CEO 2010 Henry Crown Fellow
April 5, 2010 – Mr. Love Goel, Chairman and CEO of GVG Capital Group, has been named a 2010 Henry Crown Fellow by The
Aspen Institute.

Goel, 38, was selected from a global pool of over 200 highly accomplished final nominees. Past fellows have included several
Governors, CEO’s, and private equity investors including Governor Deval Patrick of Massachusetts; Suzanne Nora Johnson,
Vice Chairman, Goldman Sachs; U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan; Reed Hastings, Founder & CEO, Netflix.

The Henry Crown Fellowship is the flagship program within the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN), now comprising
over 1000 Fellows from 43 countries, all of whom are committed to applying their entrepreneurial talents to address the
foremost challenges of their organizations, communities, and countries. The two-year program comprises a series of
structured leadership seminars and a project.

“I am deeply humbled and honored to follow in the footsteps of giants who have made outstanding contributions to society.
Their example will serve as a beacon for me on my leadership journey”, said Mr. Goel on being named to the 2010 class of
Henry Crown Fellows.

Goel is one of the most innovative and transformational business leaders of our time, widely regarded as the “Father of Multi-
Channel Retailing”. His inspiring life story has been chronicled by the Wall Street Journal, Nikkei, CNN, CNBC, numerous
business books and magazines. He founded GVG to fill a void in private equity - to create a firm focused on building multi-
channel market leaders. In his 20’s, as COO he transformed two American icons – Macy’s and Fingerhut – the largest and
most profitable department store and catalog retailers into 2 of the top 3 multi-channel retailers in the world. By his late 20’s,
he was a top Silicon Valley CEO, and the only person to build three $1 billion+ e-commerce companies. He has advised over
100 market leaders including Wal-Mart, Best Buy, BMW, Apple and Nike. In 2009, he was recognized among Minnesota’s top
"40 leaders under 40" for business and community leadership.

Peter Reiling, Executive Director of the Program, noted, “For society, they represent a potent force of talent, ready to focus their
energies on some of the greatest challenges of our times. For them, they are embarking on a personal journey - a journey
‘from success to significance’ - that will change their lives forever.”
